Tomorrow still got IT1002 mid term test!!!!!!!! i havn study at all!!! Shufi, you are so so sooooo dead!
You know you’re an Architecture Student when:
- You analyze everything as a building.
- Your concept of time is not forward, but a countdown from the time a project is due ("What time is it ?" "4 hours ’till…")
- You slice your finger, and the first thing you think of is if you’ll be able to finish your model.
- You say "It’s only midnight - I have plenty of time to finish!".
- You confuse today and tomorrow.
- You carry a toothbrush on your backpack.
- You confuse sunrise with sunset.
- The alarm clock tells you when to go to sleep.
- You strangle your room-mate because he said he stayed up late studying.
- You’re not ashamed of drooling in class anymore, especially in the Structures lesson.
- You know what UHU tastes like.
- Breakfast is your 5th meal of the day.
- The idea that you have a room to live outside of studio is a myth.
- You hear "Didn’t you wear that yesterday ?…" followed by "…and the day before that ?"
- Your room-mate files a "Missing Person Report".
- Someone asks you for your phone number and you give them the studio’s.
- You draw perspectives of your friends’ room on your Japanese homework just for the fun of it.
- Whenever you finish a project and don’t have any studio work to do, you are constantly wondering why you aren’t in studio working.
- You by tracing paper in mass quantities.
- You understand what 4B, 2B, B, HB, 2H and 4H means and have lots of each type.
- Your idea of splurging on yourself is buying another circle template (or any other template).
- YOU ALWAYS WRITE IN CAPITAL LETTERS.
- You put a scale under everything you draw so that people know how big it is.
- The biggest decision you have to make near the end of the term is "autocad, viz, pencil, or ink ?"
- You start replacing pictures of your friends and family with pictures of buildings.
- Watching the sun rise means you haven’t gone to bed yet.
- You never have enough wall space to pin things up.
- You no longer leave studio to sleep, you just crash on the couch.
- You always have a supply of portable and non-perishable food.
- You can go for days without sunlight (You go to class in the dark, you come home in the dark).
- Midnight is considered early in the evening.
- Push pins become a valuable commodity.
- On Halloween you trick-or-treat in studio to get arch supplies or "Red Bull".
before i started school,
i had lots of dreams…
but now,
it seems that i am very much…
a failure.
yes, a failure i am.
no drive,
no confidence,
low morale,
that’s me.
architecture is pushing my limits,
all i do is run away from it.
what am i to become?
if this goes on…
a failure i’ll remain and will always be.
i’ve got to wake up from this,
pick myself up,
and probably start fresh,
learn to manage my time,
learn to motivate myself,
for one day,
i might just succeed…
Lately, i feel that i’ve been missing alot of stuffs. I no longer get to do the things that i love doing… soccer, playing in band, performing magic… i feel like shit really. it seems that i totally don’t have that balance in life which i used to have. Spending hours in the studio working on the stupid design assignments that i have is really crazy. Plus, everyday i spend close to 3hrs on the bus travelling to and fro NUS. Mayb, it’s not school. Mayb it’s me… hmm…
The Five Orders of Architecture…
the orders,
take it,
design it,
can’t copy it,
cos if you do,
u will be caught,
a mess remain,
treat the order as if it belongs to you,
LOVE,
OBEY,
DEFY,
all at the same time!
